May is National Brain Tumor Awareness Month!

Each May the Pediatric Brain Tumor Program at Doernbecher Children's Hospital seeks to raise awareness about Pediatric Brain Tumors by holding our Go Gray in May campaign. During Go Gray we sell the t-shirts seen below.

Pediatric brain tumors are the second most common cancer in children and are considered the most common solid tumor affecting children. Brain and other CNS tumors are the largest cause of cancer-related death in children age 0-14 years in the United States.

Research funding for pediatric brain tumors is significantly lower compared to other cancers, with a large portion of funding coming from private philanthropies, as pediatric brain tumors are considered one of the least funded areas of medical research.

Our team knows these facts will not change without awareness! Each t-shirt we wear creates an opportunity for a conversation. Each conversation raises the awareness of our community about pediatric brain tumors.
